Beyond the Horizon: Unveiling the Shifting Dynamics of Work in 2024-25

Interesting perspectives from linkedin.com with their “Jobs on the Rise 2024 report”.  4 roles in particular stood out to me but great to reflect on the wider trends which  not only provide valuable insights into the industry but also offer a glimpse into broader societal shifts.

Firstly in healthcare:

1. The Ascendance of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) :

The healthcare sector is undergoing a significant transformation, and the rise of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) is a clear indicator of this shift. These specialized professionals are gaining prominence as the industry recognizes their pivotal role in delivering advanced medical care. This trend suggests a move towards a more optimized and specialized approach to healthcare, addressing the evolving needs of patients and the broader healthcare landscape.

2. Physical Therapists: Pioneering Holistic Healthcare:

Another noteworthy trend is the increasing demand for Physical Therapists. This surge aligns with a broader societal movement towards holistic health management. With an aging population and a growing awareness of preventive healthcare measures, skilled Physical Therapists are becoming integral to overall well-being. The job market's recognition of their importance signals a positive shift towards proactive health management.

Then over to the world of HR:…

3. VP of D&I :

The continued prevalance  of the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) role raises intriguing questions, particularly in the context of the current anti-woke trend. Navigating the delicate balance between fostering inclusivity and adapting to prevailing societal sentiments will be a challenge. This role becomes pivotal in guiding organizations towards an inclusive workplace while staying attuned to the broader socio-political landscape.

4. Recruitment Revolution: The Changing Role of In-House Recruiters:

Good to see the role of Recruiter taking the number 9 spot.  Would be interesting to know what split of these are working in-house. The evolving job market seems to be reshaping how companies approach talent acquisition. A closer look into the specific skills and strategies adopted by in-house recruiters could provide valuable insights into the future of recruitment.

The job trends for 2024-25 reflect a dynamic landscape with implications for various industries. From the specialized roles in healthcare to the evolving dynamics of diversity and inclusion, these trends offer a rich tapestry of insights. It will be interesting to see how this perspective continues to play out in our post pandemic world.
